I took up photography as a teenager because it seemed to provide a good excuse for going to interesting places. I progressed on and did a Degree at Trent Polytechnic in Nottingham.
My first 'job' was to record life as a supporter at the 1990 World Cup Finals in Italy.
So my original theory was right.....
..... Almost twenty years later and I have now worked for many of the world's best magazines, newspapers and advertising agencies in over fifty countries.
Throughout this time I have continued the same project that started me off all those years ago, namely to document world football culture. I have been fortunate enough to attend the last five World Cup finals and many other tournaments in between.
I now live with my wife, Sally and our two boys, Lorcan and Dylan in Cape Town, from where I often travel on assignments in Europe and further afield.
My football work is due to be published to coincide with the 2010 World Cup finals here in South Africa. The project is called Dreams and Goals and we are hoping to stage large scale outdoor exhibitions of the work in many of the host cities to complement the book
